Yes or no tarot: which way does your question lean?
You have been turning it over for days and only need a nudge. Send the message or not. Take the job or wait. A yes or no tarot reading is built for exactly that moment: one question, one card, a direction first, and then the reason behind it.
How to turn your question into a yes or no
A single card can carry one clear question. The more specific you are, the more the answer lands on something you can actually do tomorrow.
- Ask about one thing. "Should I change jobs and move to Chicago?" is two questions. Ask them separately.
- Make yourself the subject. You cannot control whether he comes back. You can decide whether to reach out first.
- Give it a time frame. "Should I hand in my notice this month?" reads far better than "Will I ever leave this job?"
- Only ask what you are ready to hear. If you would go ahead no matter what the card says, you do not need to ask.
Once it is written, read it back. Would a stranger understand what you are torn about? If so, you are ready to draw.
How one card reads as yes or no
Tarot rarely answers in a single word. A useful way to read a yes or no draw is in three bands: leans yes, leans no and not yet. The card sets the direction; upright or reversed shows how smooth that direction is.
Major Arcana that usually lean yes
- The Magician, The Chariot, Strength: you already hold what you need. What is missing is the first move.
- The Empress, The Sun, The Star: there is room for this to grow, and it gets easier as you go.
- The Lovers: yes, as long as you are choosing it for yourself rather than being pushed.
- The World, Judgement: a chapter has reached its end. You can close it and step into the next one.
- The Fool: you can jump, but accept that you cannot see where you will land.
Major Arcana that usually lean no
- The Tower: pushing now would bring down something that is still holding.
- The Devil: whatever is pulling you toward yes is more likely a craving or a habit than a real want.
- The Moon: you do not have the full picture yet, and what you see may be misleading.
- Death: an old way of doing things is ending. If the question is "should I keep going as before?", the answer is no.
Major Arcana that usually mean not yet
- The High Priestess, The Hermit: the answer is already in you, but it is not time to say it out loud.
- The Hanged Man, Temperance: a different angle or a slower pace will help more than deciding today.
- Wheel of Fortune, Justice: the outcome depends on timing and on what you do next. It leans yes, just not settled yet.
- The Emperor, The Hierophant: yes if you follow the proper route, no if you are looking for a shortcut.
A reversed card usually softens or pulls back the direction. An upright yes becomes "yes, once you deal with what is stuck". An upright no becomes "not now, which is not the same as never".
Questions tarot should not answer
Some decisions call for a doctor, a lawyer or someone you trust, not a card. Physical symptoms, medication, legal disputes, and anything that could hurt you or someone else belong with a professional. What tarot can do is help you see which option you are already leaning toward once you know what the options are.
And if you keep redrawing the same question until you get the answer you want, that in itself tells you something: you already knew.
Frequently asked questions
Is yes or no tarot accurate?
It does not predict the future for you. It reflects where you stand right now. Many people react to the card with "I knew it" or "that can't be right", and both reactions are part of the answer: they show you which side you were hoping for.
How many times can I ask the same question?
Once per situation is enough. LifeOs locks each question when you ask it, and later you can come back and note what actually happened, so you can see how your read at the time compared with reality.
What is the difference between the free and online plans?
The free plan builds the complete reading instructions. Paste them into the chat assistant you already use and you will get the reading at no cost. The online plan gives you the reading inside LifeOs and keeps every question in one place so you can look back later.
Why do I need to sign in?
Signing in is what lets your question be locked and saved, and synced across your devices. The question you write on this page carries over after you sign in, so you will not need to type it again.
